Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines the use of psychotherapy with hypnosis. Based on an understanding of how the brain works, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses scientifically proven, modern and practical strategies to help you make positive and significant changes in your life in a relatively short period of time.
As a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, I look at what you want to achieve (the solution) rather than focusing on whatever prompted you to seek my help (the problem). I will ask you to visualise exactly where you want to be, and we will work together to help you to develop your own strengths, set goals and make that solution a reality. This will then be reinforced in the hypnosis part of the therapy. By guiding you into a relaxed state, I will use hypnosis to enable you to engage your subconscious, using the brain’s natural adaptability to forge new, more helpful pathways towards those desired changes. This will help you to let go of the past and be rid of unhealthy thought patterns and self-limiting beliefs. You will be able to overcome depression or anxiety allowing you to cope so much better with life’s challenges.
Hypnosis is a natural state of relaxed hyper-focus which we go into during our everyday lives, for example when we are driving a regular route, reading a book or watching TV. Hypnosis is completely safe, and you are in control throughout. Your subconscious mind will only accept suggestions that are beneficial to you.
During our Solution Focused Hypnotherapy sessions in Bristol or online, I will use a variety of techniques that have proven to be highly effective in bringing about positive and sustained change. I use aspects of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), traditional Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) where appropriate alongside Hypnosis.
The number of sessions required varies as it is dependent on the client’s problem, however this and the type of therapy will be assessed during the initial consultation.
