How many sessions will it take?

The number of sessions varies and is dependent on the client’s problem.  We will discuss this in the initial consultation where I will also give you a free relaxation recording to listen to daily to enforce the work we do in between sessions.

What is Hypnosis or Trance?

Hypnosis is the bringing together of the conscious and subconscious minds in a trance state. It is a safe, powerful technique creating a deeply relaxed state of the body, mind and emotions. It is also a perfectly natural state that we are often in during our everyday lives eg whilst reading a book, watching television, or doing repeated tasks.

The therapist guides you into a relaxed trance state by the sound of their voice. It is not sleep.

Is it safe?

Yes.  Hypnotherapy is a gentle and extremely safe experience, with many people describing it as a pleasant feeling of being deeply relaxed.

Is Hypnotherapy like stage hypnosis?

No.  Clinical Hypnotherapy works on the basis of constructing a safe, positive and collaborative process called the therapeutic alliance, formed by the client and the therapist.  When a client is committed to change, this enhances the process whereby positive change can be achieved quickly and sustained.

Is online therapy still effective?

Yes.  I use Zoom with clients which is very easy to use.  Some people have reservations about having hypnotherapy online. However there is no need as it is no less effective than face to face sessions as long as you have a stable internet connection and an appropriate device such as a tablet, mobile phone, laptop or desktop computer. Many of my clients love the benefits of not having to leave their home or office.
